Acoustic Electric Guitar

Post by lethalblade » Mon Jul 31, 2006 7:59 pm

I was thinking about buying a guitar that is both acoustic and electric but I was wondering if will still sound as good as a guitar that is just acoustic and a guitar that is just electric or if some sound will be compromised because it is both.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestion but I already went to the local music shop and bought an Alverez. I chose just to get a pure acoustic instead of both.

i don't think your sacrificing any acoustic qualities by going acoustic-electric. All you're doing is adding a pickup. If anything you are "sacrificing" electric qualities. Even that the only problems is more prone to feed back and it won't sound like an "electric guitar" moreso like a louder acoustic. But, I'm sure if you added pedals, distortion, etc, it could sound pretty good trying to portay an electric.
