smoke two joints

Post by fishonron » Mon Feb 09, 2009 9:36 pm

At the end of forty ounces to freedom, Bradley says that on "smoke two joints" that was "Jack" of "Jack and the toys". Is he saying that the vocals were sung by him (Jack) ?, because it sure sounds like Bradley to me.

He's saying it was "Jacked" as in stolen, from the band "The Toyes".

Check The Toyes website for a nice summary:
http://www.thetoyes.com/sublime.html

If you haven't heard the original, you can hear The Toyes version here:
http://sublimestp.com/?page=pages/wisdom

Look for the streaming playlist on the right side, sort it by track#, and it's number 8.

Does the word "jacked" mean that he didn't receive permission from the Toyes to cover "Smoke Two Joints?" So the Toyes could sue Sublime.
