Sunday Morning

Post by szissou » Wed Mar 14, 2007 9:07 am

I apologize if this is a repeat question, but what's the significance of "Sunday Morning" being used all the time?

typically a day of redemption, as in after a long night out as mentioned above. also the end/beginning of a new week - starting over.

some people spend sunday mornings with nasty hangovers and stuff, or with a good ol' morning sex session with some girl they met at the bar last night... etc.

seeing as it's the morning after saturday, its a day of rest, and rejuvenation and shit

I can think of 4 Sublime songs where he mentions sunday morning. Those are Caress Me Down, Same In The End, Freeway Time In LA County Jail, and Boss DJ.

He might have been inspired by several Reggae songs that mention sunday morning as well. Bradley takes "The right kind of love on a sunday morning" directly from a song called "Caress Mi Down" by Clement Irie. Sublime's Caress Me Down is pretty much a cover of this song.

Sunday morning is also mentioned in a song called "Unite" by Courtney Melody. This song is playing during the Groove Tube interview in Indiatlantic, Florida, and Brad even sings one of the lines (Wanie was a good boy, Wanie was a boy who steals.)
