Russian Imperial Stout

September 4, 1999

Ingredients

• 10 lbs. pale malt extract
• chocolate malt
• black patent malt
• roasted barley
• 2 oz. Chinook whole-leaf hops (boil)
• 2 oz. Willamette hops (last 5 minutes)
• Sierra Nevada Pale Ale recultured yeast from a 12 ounce bottle.  
• * i will get the amounts of grain soon, i accidentally trashed em'.

I'm excited to brew another imperial stout.  This time we used whole leaf chinook hops instead of nugget hops.  It smelled like tea when it was done boiling.  I am anxious for this one to be ready.  The last one was damn strong, almost too strong.  I predict this one will be as strong, but with a more balanced flavor.
